{"id":108433,"date":"2025-10-11T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=108433"},"modified":"2025-10-08T21:25:34","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T10:25:34","slug":"haddow-richards-top-bloods-in-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/sport\/haddow-richards-top-bloods-in-25\/","title":{"rendered":"Haddow, Richards top Bloods in &#8217;25"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CLASSY midfielder Brody Haddow and goal shooter Gabe Richards have taken out South Bendigo&#8217;s top individual awards for the BFNL season 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Haddow &#8211; third in this year&#8217;s Michelsen Medal count behind the winner Billy Evans (Eaglehawk) and runner-up Lachlan Tardrew (Sandhurst) &#8211; was a deserving winner of the Bloods&#8217; senior best and fairest award.<\/p>\n<p>His stellar performances in the midfield were a key to the Bloods&#8217; resurgence as a semi-finalist, following a seventh-place finish and just four wins in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Ruckman Callum Crisp underlined his importance to the Bloods as the runner-up, while Tom Brereton was named most consistent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2025\/10\/554447176_1817598840_14470.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A-grade netball best and fairest Gabe Richards (right), with runner-up Andrea Wilson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alex Davis won most determined and Hayden Geddes claimed the most improved award.<\/p>\n<p>In a season in which South Bendigo players filled the top three positions on the league&#8217;s leading goalkicker table, Brock Harvey emerged as the leader.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Nitschke won the best club person award.<\/p>\n<p>In A-grade netball, two of the Bloods&#8217; high-profile recruits finished top two, with powerhouse goaler Gabe Richards taking out the best and fairest and midcourter Andrea Wilson the runner-up.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2025\/10\/556212503_1817598906_17885.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"768\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Senior football runner-up best and fairest Callum Crisp.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pair joined the Bloods this season, after playing in a premiership with Heathcote District league club Elmore in 2024, and were instrumental in the club reaching the semi-finals for the first time in over two decades.<\/p>\n<p>It was a big awards night for Richards, who also claimed the players&#8217; player and best in finals awards, and was the recipient of the Ted Mills Anzac Day medal for a best on court performance against Eaglehawk.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Ellis and Gary Bath were awarded life memberships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CLASSY midfielder Brody Haddow and goal shooter Gabe Richards have taken out South Bendigo&#8217;s top individual awards for the BFNL season 2025.
