{"id":110081,"date":"2025-12-14T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=110081"},"modified":"2025-12-12T11:02:25","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T00:02:25","slug":"fnc-partners-to-drive-down-road-toll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/living\/fnc-partners-to-drive-down-road-toll\/","title":{"rendered":"FNC partners to drive down road toll"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SOUTH Bendigo Football Netball Club is one of 316 grassroots football and netball clubs to share in $700,000 to drive down speeding in their community as a recipient of the Transport Accident Commission&#8217;s Club Rewards program.<\/p>\n<p>Each club will receive up to $10,000 towards helping them engage with players, members and their communities on key road safety issues and to promote safe behaviours on the road.<\/p>\n<p>Successful clubs from across the state were invited to apply for the program and show how they supported road safety throughout the year, including taking part in the TAC&#8217;s Road Safety Round.<\/p>\n<p>Around 44 per cent of successful applications were from regional Victoria where serious road trauma risk is the highest.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants can use the money for initiatives including education programs, club transport initiatives, new equipment and uniforms.<\/p>\n<p>Head of AFL Victoria Greg Madigan said grassroots football clubs are often the heart of local communities, meaning they are a great platform to promote behaviour change and awareness.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Particularly for our regional communities, footballers cover hundreds of kilometres on the road each season, travelling to and from games and training, so road safety needs to be front of mind for us all,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Throughout this football season, many of our clubs have demonstrated a significant commitment to promoting road safety and education, and on behalf of AFL Victoria I am thrilled to see those clubs rewarded for their efforts through the Program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>More information can be found on the <a href=\"http:\/\/tac.vic.gov.au\/about-the-tac\/community\/grants\/tac-club-rewards-program\">Transport Accident Commission website<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SOUTH Bendigo Football Netball Club is one of 316 grassroots football and netball clubs to share in $700,000 to drive down speeding in their community as a recipient of the Transport Accident Commission&#8217;s Club Rewards program.
