FOLLOWING several years of ideation and six months of development, Bendigo parent and education IT professional Alex Bracken has launched his new online Australian curriculum-aligned primary school homework platform.<\/p>\n

Sukindi \u2013 an amalgamation of his own children’s names \u2013 has been designed with the express purpose of reducing stress for families and to support learning at home.<\/p>\n

After watching many parents struggle to confidently support their children’s homework without becoming an “at-home teacher”, Mr Bracken said he built the app to provide structured weekly practice across reading, writing and maths in a way that children enjoy and parents can easily track.<\/p>\n

“The three main pillars were that it needed to be curriculum-aligned, which comes from my teaching experience; it needed to be fun enough for the kids to actually want to do it, and it also needed to be easy for parents to use,” he said.<\/p>\n

“From there, I’ve also been adding elements of learning experiences outside of the digital realm.<\/p>\n

“For example, there’s cooking, art and science activities that are baked into the app, and they’re physical hands-on tasks.”<\/p>\n

He said as a former primary teacher he had used plenty of software in the classroom and “a lot of it that wasn’t particularly great (and) some of it was really good”.<\/p>\n

“When I finally had the opportunity to sit down and dedicate some time to developing my own thing I took what I know works well and avoided what doesn’t.”<\/p>\n

Sukindi is now being trialled by families across the region, and Mr Bracken would love more people to get involved.<\/p>\n
