BENDIGO Spirit continues to shore up its exciting young core, announcing the re-signing of talented guard Georgia Booth for the 2026-27 WNBL season.<\/p>\n
Booth returned to Bendigo at the beginning of the 2025-26 campaign, committing to her first full WNBL contract following time as a development player.<\/p>\n
She emerged as one of the country’s standout prospects.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old – known for her pace, defensive energy and poise with the ball – has continued to develop strongly within the Spirit program and played an important depth role throughout the season.<\/p>\n
Booth impressed with her competitiveness, improved decision\u2013making and growing confidence in the Spirit’s system, showing clear progression from her initial signing announcement and establishing herself as a valued member of the roster.<\/p>\n
Spirit general manager Dan Jackson said her impact was felt both in practice and in games, where her versatility and ability to lift the team’s tempo stood out.<\/p>\n
She averaged 3.60 points, 1.98 rebounds and .68 assists in her first full WNBL campaign.<\/p>\n
Booth said she was thrilled to continue her journey in Bendigo.<\/p>\n
“I’m really grateful to be returning to the Spirit again next season,” Booth said.<\/p>\n
“This season has been huge for my development, and I’ve loved being part of this group.<\/p>\n
“Staying in Bendigo for NBL1 and into the next WNBL season feels like the right place for me.<\/p>\n
“I’m excited to keep building and to contribute wherever I can.”<\/p>\n
Furthering her commitment to team and community, Booth has stayed put in Bendigo and is lining up with the Braves in the NBL1 South competition, albeit she did not play in the team’s season-opening loss to Ballarat Miners last week<\/p>\n
Jackson said Booth’s re\u2013signing was another strong step in shaping the Spirit’s roster for next season’s campaign.<\/p>\n
“Georgia has taken meaningful steps forward this season, and her growth has been really pleasing,” Jackson said.<\/p>\n
She brings energy, toughness and a team\u2013first mindset that fits perfectly with our culture.<\/p>\n
“We’re excited to see where she can take her game over the next year, both with the Spirit and through a big NBL1 season with the Braves.”<\/p>\n
