THE planned White Hills Oval female-friendly pavilion upgrade is closer to coming to fruition following news that the Victorian Budget 2026\/27 includes up to $3 million for it.<\/p>\n
The project includes improvements to the pavilion’s kitchen, spectator shelter, change room and other amenities and is expected to not only relieve pressure on existing facilities, but also provide a more modern and welcoming space for everyone, including more women and girls.<\/p>\n
The Scott Street oval currently hosts Australian rules football, cricket, netball and broader community events and pastimes.<\/p>\n
“We are backing the Hillies with the infrastructure they need to get more families involved in sport,” Premier and Bendigo East MP Jacinta Allan said.<\/p>\n
“It will mean more games, more participation and more opportunities for players, families and the community.”<\/p>\n
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence said better sport and recreation facilities make it easier for residents in areas like White Hills to lead and enjoy healthy and active lifestyles.<\/p>\n
The state government also acknowledged the City of Greater Bendigo for its ongoing commitment and financial contribution to the project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
