THE clinic leader of the Bendigo branch of global physiotherapy and strength training chain Kieser, Mischka Morton, has been named as a finalist in this year’s Victorian Rural Health Awards.<\/p>\n
The exercise scientist has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Contribution to Rural Allied Health Award, while the practice itself is also up for the Outstanding Contribution by a Rural Multidisciplinary Health Team Award.<\/p>\n
Organised by the Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) in partnership with the Victorian Department of Health, the awards are said to celebrate the individuals and teams who are making a real and lasting difference across rural and regional Victoria.<\/p>\n
This year’s finalists have been praised for reflecting the strength of the entire rural health system, including clinicians, practice staff, students, outreach teams and educators.<\/p>\n
RWAV CEO Lauren Cordwell said the awards program is an important opportunity to celebrate the commitment, collaboration and care that underpin rural health services across Victoria.<\/p>\n
“These awards are about recognising the people who keep rural healthcare moving forward every day, often quietly, often under pressure, but always with purpose and care,” she said.<\/p>\n
“What we see in this year’s finalists is a workforce that is adapting, innovating, and continuing to show up for their communities in meaningful ways.<\/p>\n
“Their impact is felt far beyond the clinics and services they work in.”<\/p>\n
Established in 1967 in Switzerland, Kieser operates in more than 150 locations worldwide, including over 30 across Australia.<\/p>\n
