THE district\u2019s food producers are encouraged to sign up to the City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s online City and Region of Gastronomy directory.<\/p>\n

An avenue to promote local businesses, the new catalogue will differ from the pre-existing Gastronomy Guide, originally established to support tourism, and food businesses dealing directly with customers.<\/p>\n

City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s director of strategy and growth Bernie O\u2019Sullivan emphasised the area\u2019s independent and diverse food and drink producers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe local producers directory is a great opportunity for producers in the region to showcase their produce to potential wholesale, retail, caf\u00e9, restaurant and business customers, as well as direct to consumers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the reasons we were named a City and Region of Gastronomy is because so much wonderful food and drink is produced locally.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis directory will give producers the opportunity to connect with more customers, businesses or individuals, and create a comprehensive listing of all the food and drink that is made and grown here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Businesses can sign up to the directory for free. Visit bendigogastronomy.com.au\/local-producers<\/strong><\/a>, supply some information and relevant photographs.<\/p>\n
