THE Bendigo and District Table Tennis Association is hosting a number of programs encouraging people of all ages and ability to get involved in the sport.<\/p>\n

A program for new and novice players runs every Thursday evening and juniors go every Friday evening at the newly upgraded Eaglehawk Badminton and Table Tennis Stadium.<\/p>\n

President of the association Gary Warnest is thrilled to have the stadium open for the public after a tough last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the last 12 months with COVID, we haven\u2019t been able to have our stadium open and as well as that a lot of people have got out of the habit of participating in sport,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re an active community asset and we\u2019d like to play our role in encouraging not only juniors but local residents to become active in a sport that is a fantastic sport open to men and women of all ages and all abilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a fabulous stadium, 12 tables set up all the time, and we\u2019d really like to encourage anybody at whatever age group to come along.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Warnest said the newly updated facility is designed to attract people from across the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve just upgraded our stadium to LED lighting, we have Olympic standard sports flooring, world quality tables. The facilities we have are amazing and we\u2019d like to share those with the public.\u201d<\/p>\n
