DIRECTOR of strategy and growth with the City of Greater Bendigo Bernie O\u2019Sullivan has accepted a new role as the CEO of Macedon Ranges Shire Council.<\/p>\n
Mr O\u2019Sullivan joined the City of Greater Bendigo in October 2016 as the first in his role.<\/p>\n
His achievements include securing Qantas fights for Bendigo and the region, helping lock in major exhibitions at the Bendigo Art Gallery, taking part in the designation process for UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, and strategic work to position the city for the future.<\/p>\n
Mr O\u2019Sullivan said he is excited to join Macedon Ranges Shire.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have greatly enjoyed my time at the City and the chance to work in local government with a passionate group of staff and councilors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking in this level of government means you can make a big difference in your local community, and it has been a privilege to be a leader in Greater Bendigo during a time of significant growth and change.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMost recently, I have been very proud of the work of the strategy and growth directorate to support businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the way staff responded internally as parts of our business, particularly the Art Gallery and Bendigo Venues & Events, were significantly impacted.\u201d<\/p>\n
CEO of the City of Greater Bendigo Craig Niemann said Mr O\u2019Sullivan is the perfect choice for the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cBernie has been a great asset for the City and we wish him all the very best as he takes on this new challenge,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
