JOIN the circus for one day at Hargreaves Mall next Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The Connected Circus is bringing a range of props and tricks and encouraging everyone to have a go.<\/p>\n
Ringmaster Vern Hardie said the workshop is a fun way for children to play and get moving.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity for us to bring some circus fun and life into the Bendigo mall which is a little bit quiet, and allow kids and adults coming through to come and have a bit of a play with us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll be doing everything from using things like hula hoops and flowerstix, pois and even dragon staffs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll be instructing them how to use it and having a bit of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Bendigo-based Connected Circus has been running events for about six years and held a workshop at the Easter festival earlier this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was an undercover space which was all about games and allowing people to come and play games with each other,\u201d Mr Hardie said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the workshops we would have a few different props and show people how to use them.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Hardie said the premise of the workshops is to inspire creativity through movement.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main idea for that is to really give everyone a chance to play, we really believe in the importance of play,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s looking at the same thing and doing it together and learning and playing and having fun, that\u2019s a really big part of what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n
