Mr Morrison said the overall goal of the teams was to raise $40,000 for children\u2019s charity Variety.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got 18 families this year, next year we\u2019re hoping to get in the 20s,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor 18 families to raise $40,000, and we\u2019ll go over $40,000, it\u2019s pretty special and we get to have fun at the sometime so can\u2019t go wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n
Teams dealt with trucks getting stuck in embankments, doors being ripped off by trees and one family getting lost but quickly found.<\/p>\n
Newcomers to the bash, the Bidwell family, said they can\u2019t wait to return next year.<\/p>\n
Neil and Melody and children Aaron and Elise said they planned to go to last year\u2019s bash but had to wait 18 years.<\/p>\n
The family from Diamond Creek had never done anything like it before and the kids relished the opportunity to venture across the Victorian countryside.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fun because we get lead to these places we don\u2019t know and we can explore places and have fun things to do,\u201d daughter Elise, 11, said.<\/p>\n
Aaron, 12, said \u201cexploring the different towns\u201d was definitely the highlight.<\/p>\n
Mrs Bidwell said for the family to get to go four-wheel driving for a good cause is something they don\u2019t take for granted.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t get an opportunity to do this thing in your daily life,\u201d she said. \u201cYou wouldn\u2019t go out on these four-wheel drive tracks as a family if you were novices like us.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot many charities allow you to get involved at this level and meet new people and have unique experiences, you often just donate and that\u2019s where it stops.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis allows us to be immersed and meet other people connected to the charity.\u201d<\/p>\n
