MOST hope to forget their questionable past outfit choices, but celebrities across the world have shared their fond fashion memories with Bendigo artist and writer, Garry Taylor.<\/p>\n
In his first published book, Mr Taylor took a look back on the iconic outfits and sentimental pieces from famous names in TV, music, sport and even cooking scenes.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey might be remembering clothes from the 60s or 70s or 80s,\u201d Mr Taylor said.<\/p>\n
In his self-described coffee table book, Mr Taylor combined his drawing and writing talents to share the intimate memories of high-profile stars like Kate Ceberano and Cathy Freeman.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought I could put those two skills together,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m an artist and I\u2019m interested in all things that are concerned with the visual world.\u201d<\/p>\n
The project took over 12 years to complete, and the final copy combines Mr Taylor\u2019s original illustrations with personally addressed letters and photos from 80 home grown and international celebrities.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome of the stories are humorous but others are serious, and some are sad,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
One noteworthy contribution came from British designer Bruce Oldfield who shared his experience dancing the night away with the late Princess Diana, while she was dressed in a gown of his own creation.<\/p>\n
Mr Taylor gave particular focus to memories from people famous in the decades during his upbringing and said there was a lot to reminisce about from those times.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought the further back they can go with their memory the more interesting it\u2019d be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
