THE Bendigo Women\u2019s Shed is one step closer to becoming a reality after the group secured a location for the community space last week.<\/p>\n
Co-founders Jo Haynes and Prue Clarke revealed the news to unsuspecting members last Wednesday at Connect Church Bendigo and Ms Haynes said she was happy to finally make the announcement after other offers fell through.<\/p>\n
\u201cUntil I actually walked in there, I was like \u2018yeah okay we\u2019ll see\u2019,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve gone and checked out a few places, we were chasing places up and then when [Ms Clarke] turned around and said \u2018I think I\u2019ve got a place\u2019 I was like \u2018oh yeah okay\u2019 and then when it all started happening real quick I\u2019m like \u2018oh wow, we\u2019ve got a place\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Connect Church has supplied their old location to the group free of charge with access to a kitchen, toilets and even an auditorium.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe fact that they\u2019re donating that to us, it\u2019s just unbelievable,\u201d Ms Haynes said.<\/p>\n
She said members were \u201crelieved\u201d to hear the news as it means the group can now start planning for the future of the shed.<\/p>\n
\u201cNothing could move forward until we actually had a place so by obtaining a place now, we can concentrate on \u2018what are we going to do?\u2019, \u2018what are we going to do with the space?\u2019, \u2018when can we start offering classes?\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n
