THE Central Highlands Pleasure Harness Club is welcoming new members following a booked out graded dressage day three weeks ago.<\/p>\n
The Huntly-based club trains riders of all ages in a variety of pleasure harness driving including dressage, cone, obstacle, combined and even show driving, and events secretary Hilary Billett said beginners are also welcome.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will help anyone with their gear or getting their pony started in harness, so anyone is welcome to come down and have a look,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Children as young as five can join in club activities alongside a parent and publicity officer Dianne Aulsebrook said members of all skill levels can learn from experienced staff at the club, part of the Australian Carriage Driving Society.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are all sorts of levels of expertise in different areas so there is always someone there that can help another,\u201d she said. \u201cSafety of the horse and the driver is absolute paramount.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a really healthy environment where people can be constantly learning from one another.\u201d<\/p>\n
Spectators are welcome at the club\u2019s dressage day this weekend from 9am at 455 Millwood Rd, Huntly.<\/p>\n
