GEELONG captain Joel Selwood returned to his boyhood club last Wednesday, for the launch of a new regional football clinic series.<\/p>\n
Selwood led young athletes at St Therese\u2019s Junior Football Club through a number of drills, with many thrilled to run alongside one of their AFL heroes.<\/p>\n
The Born and Bred clinics, powered by Red Energy, see AFL and AFLW players to giving back to their former clubs across Victoria including Mornington Peninsula, Gippsland and Geelong.<\/p>\n
The three-time premiership player said it was good to be back with the Sharks at recently upgraded Ewing Park.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really grateful that Red Energy has partnered with SEN to bring local footballers back to their home ground. It\u2019s an amazing initiative and something that we really cherish we can do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s amazing where the Sharks have been able to get now and even with having five sides here tonight it\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s great to see lots of kids out here, boys and girls, enjoying their footy.\u201d<\/p>\n
General manager of marketing and business development for Red Energy David Holman said they are pleased to be able to connect regional junior footballers with top players.<\/p>\n
