THE latest recipients of a State Government funding program for sporting clubs and governing bodies have been announced, with nine Bendigo and district organisations receiving money.<\/p>\n
In the current round of the Sporting Club Grants Program, the successful applicants will receive up to $1000 for new uniforms and equipment, or up to $5000 for staff training, operational effectiveness or COVID-19 recovery support.<\/p>\n
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards said she was \u201cproud to provide this boost that opens up a range of opportunities on and off the field for clubs and their members.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCongratulations our latest batch of grant recipients and I look forward to seeing a new generation of local champions get their chance to take their sports to a whole new level,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said the money will also allow clubs to expand.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots sports clubs in Bendigo the support they need to grow their ranks and help more people than ever play the sports they love,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Bendigo Calisthenics will spend their $1000 on new uniforms, while the Bendigo Football Netball League and junior league received $5000 each for cleaning costs.<\/p>\n
Bendigo Yacht Club and Eaglehawk Soccer Club will each use their $2000 on training initiatives, while Marong FNC will spend the same amount on their COVID Ready program.<\/p>\n
In Strathfieldsaye, the Dodgers Baseball Club will buy new equipment to cater for their increased membership with $1000, while the junior football club will spend $689 on safety training equipment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
