WESTERN Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has lavished praise on Aaron Naughton\u2019s \u201cextraordinary\u201d performance in Sunday\u2019s win over Fremantle despite his wayward kicking for goal.<\/p>\n
The Bulldogs spearhead took 13 marks, including a spectacular grab in the final quarter, but couldn\u2019t finish off his good work finishing with one goal and five behinds.<\/p>\n
Naughton hauled in a game-high five contested marks and had a hand in 12 score involvements as the Dogs ran out 28-point winners at Optus Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was extraordinary tonight (Sunday),\u201d Beveridge told reporters post-game.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe think he\u2019s a really good set shot for goal. It\u2019s a shame. They were all gettable for Aaron tonight.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019ll be disappointed in the fact that he didn\u2019t complete some of his work, but he was extraordinary.\u201d<\/p>\n
Beveridge also provided an update on injured ruckman Stef Martin who was subbed out at half-time with a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe good thing is we don\u2019t play this weekend but hopefully he might be a sneaky chance for Geelong,\u201d the Dogs coach said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll get a scan and understand the extent.\u201d<\/p>\n
The second-placed Bulldogs have the bye this week before a taking on the Cats in a Friday night blockbuster on June 18.<\/p>\n
