The REA Group has successfully completed the acquisition of Mortgage Choice Limited following the initial announcement to the ASX in March regarding the transaction.<\/p>\n
This deal boosts REA\u2019s expanding digital property advertising business\u2019s exposure to the mortgage sector and will compliment REA\u2019s franchise broking group Smartline.<\/p>\n
Mortgage Choice suspended trading on the ASX on 18 June after receiving court approval for REA Group\u2019s $244-million acquisition and will continue to operate under its own brand through its network of over 380 franchises and over 500 mortgage brokers across Australia.<\/p>\n
Mortgage Choice shareholders will be compensated with a cash consideration of $1.95 per share, as per the scheme of arrangement.<\/p>\n
The combined businesses will have a significant national broker footprint in Australia\u2019s more than $400 billion annual home loan market with over 940 brokers and 720 franchises, more than 40 lending partners and a loan book over $84 billion dollars.<\/p>\n
REA Group Chief Executive Officer Owen Wilson commented that he was delighted to welcome the Mortgage Choice team to REA.<\/p>\n
