THE City of Greater Bendigo has helped launch Victoria\u2019s Digital Innovation Festival with a series of free online events taking place until Wednesday, 8 September.<\/p>\n
The festival, which started today, is designed to celebrate entrepreneurship and new developments across the state.<\/p>\n
City director of strategy and growth Steve Hamilton said Bendigo\u2019s online DIF hub showcases a range of local innovation.<\/p>\n
\u201cDIFvic celebrates Victoria\u2019s capabilities and success stories and this year will promote digital skills, advanced technology and explore the jobs of the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of the festival, the Bendigo DIF Hub will showcase our region as a centre for digital innovation offering online events that will appeal to entrepreneurs and start-ups, businesses and local industry and those in education and research.\u201d<\/p>\n
Upcoming events include the Girl in STEAM Electric Car Project workshop this Saturday at the Discovery, Science and Technology Centre.<\/p>\n
The project has involved young female students from Bendigo Tech School converting a classic Range Rover into an electric vehicle, with support from industry, promoting career pathways in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.<\/p>\n
On Monday, 6 September the Victorian Regional Growth Showcase will take place, celebrating digital projects happening across the state.<\/p>\n
As part of the showcase, information on the regional digital fund will be provided, outlining how the Victorian Government aims to support communities through four themes of connectivity, digital hubs, digital health and digital inclusion.<\/p>\n
