{"id":78541,"date":"2021-09-30T04:36:53","date_gmt":"2021-09-29T18:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=78541"},"modified":"2022-02-27T11:23:13","modified_gmt":"2022-02-27T00:23:13","slug":"could-be-facing-a-major-reset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/sport\/could-be-facing-a-major-reset\/","title":{"rendered":"Could be facing a major reset?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TIM Watson and Garry Lyon have forecast significant changes at Geelong this off-season.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant coaches Corey Enright and Matthew Knights departed the Cats to St Kilda and West Coast respectively, while Matthew Scarlett also exited the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think they\u2019ll have to rebuild their whole coaching department if that\u2019s the case,\u201d Watson told <em>SEN Breakfast<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are probably talking to people now if that\u2019s the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA major reset, I\u2019m thinking they\u2019re looking at Chris Scott and asking, \u2018are you up for a rebuild?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lyon added: \u201cI think there\u2019s going to be a big reset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ageing Cats recently lost their fifth preliminary final since 2013 under coach Chris Scott.<\/p>\n<p>Lyon believes the acquisition of Steve Hocking as the CEO could see a dramatic change within the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSteve Hocking is putting his eyes over that whole organisation from top to bottom,\u201d Lyon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the whole football club is going to get a very thorough Steve Hocking makeover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scott has coached Geelong for 11 years, with 10 of his players aged 30 or over on the 2021 playing list.<\/p>\n<p>He comes out contract next year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;\u00a0<strong>BY REGAN HODGE\/ SEN<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TIM Watson and Garry Lyon have forecast significant changes at Geelong this off-season.
