CELEBRATE your first moments of further pandemic freedoms on Friday night by watching a free movie under the stars in the Garden for the Future.<\/p>\n
Kids flick, Think Like a Dog<\/em>, will be screened at the family friendly event, held in celebration of Children\u2019s Week.<\/p>\n After booking out in just three days, community wellbeing officer at the City of Greater Bendigo, Kristy Bennett, said the event was open to another 100 people in line with the new restrictions.<\/p>\n \u201cParticularly in the current environment and what children have experienced in the last close to two years, I think it\u2019s a really nice opportunity for families to go out and connect and be out in the community enjoying themselves,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n She said the movie aligned well with the annual week\u2019s theme, teaching kids about forging friendships and connecting with others.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is certainly nicely reflected in this movie that we\u2019ve selected for the fun, family night out,\u201d Ms Bennett said.<\/p>\n The event is scheduled for a 6pm start, with the movie to play from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic rug or chair and dinner, and those aged 16 years and over will need to show proof of their full vaccination status.<\/p>\n Ms Bennett said the City was planning more public activities following the easing of restrictions, with a few already scheduled.<\/p>\n \u201cFrom here on in we\u2019ll be able to provide more events and we\u2019ve got another couple planned till the end of the year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve got one happening in November and another one in December, so we\u2019ll be able to provide more families with these opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
