THE Real Estate Institute of Victoria has announced that Quentin Kilian will succeed Gil King as the organisation\u2019s CEO from mid-February next year.<\/p>\n
Mr Kilian is currently CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Northern Territory, a position he has held for the past 12 years.<\/p>\n
Before REINT, Mr Kilian spent six years directing Asian relations and international trade for the Northern Territory Government.<\/p>\n
The property industry leader said he was looking forward to moving to Victoria and joining the REIV.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe effective work of my predecessor, Gil King, and the REIV board, means I will walk into a membership organisation with a firm foundation, strong industry advocacy track-record and solid reputation,\u201d Mr Kilian said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout a shadow of doubt, Victoria is highly-regarded on the national and international real estate stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe sector\u2019s hard-working property professionals are doing a tremendous job realising the ambitions of buyers and sellers, investors and renters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat said, there is much to do to ensure a better public policy and regulatory framework for all participants in the property industry during ever-changing market conditions and a sometimes complex operating environment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look forward to engaging all levels of government and listening to other sector stakeholders to see an improved way forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
REIV president Adam Docking congratulated Mr Kilian on his appointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing a national search, we are delighted to have secured someone of Quentin\u2019s calibre for this critical industry leadership role,\u201d Mr Docking said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThroughout his candidacy, it was clear we were talking to an agile advocacy expert who had established great respect and influence in the sector, not only up north, but also nationally.<\/p>\n
\u201cQuentin will work closely with Gil King over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition as our members look forward to what should be a prosperous 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Docking also extended gratitude to Gil King for his service over the past five years.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the REIV board, and sector more broadly, I thank Gil King for his tireless commitment to our members and skilful navigation of an often complex operating environment with a range of stakeholder interests,\u201d Mr Docking said.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, our organisation is on a firm financial footing, representing over 7000 members, and Gil has been instrumental in establishing this strong position for the Institute.\u201d<\/p>\n
On his retirement Mr King said the future of the REIV was in good hands.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have great confidence in Quentin\u2019s capability in ensuring the voice of the real estate sector is heard at every level of government and that the sector continues to be recognised as a significant economic contributor to Victoria\u2019s economy,\u201d Mr King said.<\/p>\n
