The Victorian Tourism Awards have a distinct Bendigo flavour, with the municipality nominated as a finalist in four categories.<\/p>\n
The City is nominated for a Local Government Award for Tourism and its spring campaign Bloom is nominated in the Tourism and Marketing Campaign category.<\/p>\n
The Bendigo Visitor Centre is a finalist in the Visitor Services Award and the Living Arts Space and the Uniquely Bendigo brand are nominated in the Tourism Retail and Hire category.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is wonderful recognition of how our staff and volunteers have been able to successfully pivot to create unique experiences and opportunities during the height of the pandemic,\u201d City manager of tourism and events Terry Karamaloudis said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Bloom campaign cleverly enticed people to be part of the tulip experiences even if they were unable to visit in person and Bendigo\u2019s tulips have been shared far and wide.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Bendigo Visitor Centre\u2019s staff and volunteers have been nominated for their outstanding customer service, our exhibitions at the Living Arts Space and our specially branded Uniquely Bendigo are very popular and valued by residents and visitors so these state nominations are well-deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n
