STEP into the intimate world of song writing at Sing a Song of Sixpence, coming to Bendigo next month.<\/p>\n
Originally slated for August last year, the 11 February evening gig at the Old Church on the Hill brings together musicians Van Walker, Sarah Carroll, Grim Fawkner, Delsinki, Joyce Prescher and accompanist John Kendall.<\/p>\n
The \u2018in the round\u2019 style show will see the artists improvise and share insight into their creative process, while bouncing ideas and drawing inspiration from one another.<\/p>\n
The mind behind the musical concept, Delsinki, said the show could bring something new to audiences.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s an amalgamation of ideas, a standard songwriter in the round and then with these shows we add in one or two improvising instrumentalists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s got quite an organic and inclusive feel to it because the audience is sitting in and around us,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s quite a unique experience for the listener.\u201d<\/p>\n
The musician said after a long pause to live music during the pandemic, artists were keen to get back on stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a bit rocky at the moment and fingers and toes crossed that we do get to do the shows without any hiccups. It is really important, especially after the two years that we\u2019ve just had,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople want to go see music. Music is such a big part of all our lives and I think it\u2019s extremely important that live shows are happening over streamed shows.\u201d<\/p>\n
