A SECTION of Lyttleton Terrace will be closed to traffic from late January until early March as work continues on the Galkangu \u2013 Bendigo GovHub.<\/p>\n
A stretch of the road inbound to the city centre from Mundy Street to St Andrews Avenue is expected to shut from 20 January to 4 March to allow for the frame of the new building to be craned into place, according to the City of Greater Bendigo CEO Craig Niemann.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough the closure will lead to a temporary loss of 11 parking bays along the closed section of Lyttleton Terrace, by closing the road it will reduce the need for future disruptions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the road reopens, the parking bays will be available again, along with some car parking along St Andrews Avenue.<\/p>\n
\u201cShort delays may occur in being able to move around the area, so we thank the community for its patience while these works take place.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nearby roads will remain open, with detour signage to be displayed. Local businesses and residences will be accessible, and pedestrians will also be able to cross Lyttleton Terrace during the works.<\/p>\n
