LOCAL businesses and organisations can showcase their offerings for free at Lansell Square Shopping Centre throughout February.<\/p>\n
As part of the centre\u2019s Connecting Our Community program, exhibition spaces will be made available for groups during each Friday of the month focusing on key themes of technology and finance, art and culture, food and health, and active wellbeing.<\/p>\n
The program is a partnership between the centre, Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise and Bendigo Community Health Services, and Lansell Square retail manager Debbie Lee said it could help businesses grow their reach.<\/p>\n
\u201cShopping centres are a great destination and place to create a sense of belonging, community engagement and are the hub of the local community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe activations will engage with a broader audience, creating more connections and sharing between stall holders, local businesses, shoppers and the community.\u201d<\/p>\n
The initiative was formed using the City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s Business Grants Fund which is aimed at supporting organisations who have taken a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
\u201cEach partner in this funding application already has great depth of relationship and strong ties to many amazing groups within our community,\u201d Ms Lee said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCollectively, each partner feels very confident that many additional community groups, stall holders and small businesses will be enthusiastic and participate in activations, helping drive awareness, foster creativity and build connections.\u201d<\/p>\n
Businesses can exhibit both inside the centre and in the carpark, and Ms Lee said applicants are coming from all areas and industries.<\/p>\n
\u201cA broad range of businesses and groups have already registered but space is still available,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have karate groups, dance groups, schools, health providers and many other exciting groups participating.\u201d<\/p>\n
