FEEL like the dancing queen when The Ten Sopranos bring Mamma Mia \u2013 The Concert<\/em> to the Capital Theatre this Sunday at 7pm.<\/p>\n

The show, originally scheduled for 4 December, has travelled across Australia and promises to have the audience stomping, clapping and singing along to the greatest hits of ABBA.<\/p>\n

Managing director of production company Giant Entertainment, Wayne Kalil, said the show is not an ABBA tribute act, rather a unique display of classical singing meeting contemporary music.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you like ABBA, you\u2019ve got to go see this show. If you like quality singing, you\u2019ve got to go see this show,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t a lookalike, soundalike, this is brand new harmonies. It\u2019s exciting, the singing is shared among 10 great singers and it\u2019ll be a dance along, sing along frenzy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that The Ten Sopranos can sing ABBA is quite unique, and it sounds nothing like what you\u2019d expect.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not an opera delivery, it\u2019s a truly creative delivery. There\u2019s new and exciting harmonies, and the meticulous detail on every note sung is the strength of this act.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ten Sopranos have been performing Mamma Mia \u2013 The Concert \u00ad<\/em>for three years, however time on stage has been dictated by COVID-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

Lead by internationally acclaimed and award-winning singer Penny Pavlakis, the group has been performing since 2006, releasing two CDs and a DVD.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lead singer is one of the most critically acclaimed singers in Australian history, Penny Pavlakis. She\u2019s won every opera, classical and contemporary competition there is in Australia over the years,\u201d Mr Kalil said. \u201cShe brings star power to that stage no one else brings.\u201d<\/p>\n
