{"id":80815,"date":"2022-02-03T04:56:01","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T17:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=80815"},"modified":"2022-02-27T11:03:55","modified_gmt":"2022-02-27T00:03:55","slug":"calendar-of-shows-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/calendar-of-shows-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Calendar of shows released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s performing arts program for 2022 was revealed last week.<\/p>\n<p>Manager of Bendigo Venues and Events, Julie Amos, said this year will see quality shows from music to drama, opera, comedy and physical theatre take to stages across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite the continuing impact and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have curated a wonderful program of performances and activities for our community to enjoy, bringing together a diverse and dynamic mix of shows at our magnificent venues here in Bendigo,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Season 2022 program has something for everyone from classical ballet and hard-core Wagnerian opera to feminist circus and popular family entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to deliver a bold performing arts program and cultural activities with high profile touring companies coming back to Bendigo together with some boutique and niche Australian works that will delight and enthral audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the shows are <em>An Afternoon with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra<\/em> at the Ulumbarra Theatre in March, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow &#8211; also at the Ulumbarra in May, and <em>Margaret Fulton The Musical\u00a0<\/em>at The Capital in August.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur spacious and world-class venues, our trained staff and volunteers and our steadfast commitment to a COVID-Safe environment means your wellbeing is our priority,\u201d Ms Amos said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMasks are to be worn inside our theatres for the time being and I\u2019d like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their ongoing support in meeting our health requirements so that everyone can relax and enjoy performances at our venues during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms Amos encouraged people to book for shows now to secure their tickets.
