YOUNG creatives can once again show off their talents in the region\u2019s RAW Arts Awards.<\/p>\n
The competition is open to anyone aged 25 years or younger living in Greater Bendigo, with categories in visual arts, literature, performing arts and short film all complete with $1000 and $250 prizes.<\/p>\n
Artists will also have a shot at a brand new $500 YoBendigo\/Ambedo\u00a0<\/em>Award, named after the region\u2019s quarterly youth magazine made exclusively by young people.<\/p>\n One entry exploring what it\u2019s like to be a young person living locally will be selected for the additional title.<\/p>\n City of Greater Bendigo mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf\u00a0said the RAW Arts Awards were an exciting way for budding creatives to get their work out.<\/p>\n \u201cRAW is a highlight in the arts calendar because it provides a wonderful showcase to celebrate and admire the diverse works and talents of young people in Greater Bendigo,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cOver the past decade, the RAW Awards have been the launchpad for young artists, many of whom are now practising professionals in the creative arts industries.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a great opportunity to showcase your work and I encourage all young artists to consider entering their work in this year\u2019s awards.\u201d<\/p>\n Winners will be announced at a free ceremony at The Capital on 2 June, where attendees can view the literature, performing arts and digital media entries.<\/p>\n A public exhibition of the visual art pieces will also be on show at Dudley House from 3 to 5 June.<\/p>\n
