{"id":81513,"date":"2022-03-10T04:58:45","date_gmt":"2022-03-09T17:58:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=81513"},"modified":"2022-03-10T16:43:08","modified_gmt":"2022-03-10T05:43:08","slug":"easter-fair-program-goes-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/easter-fair-program-goes-live\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter Fair program goes live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A JAM-PACKED schedule of events detailing this year\u2019s four-day Bendigo Easter Fair is now available online.<\/p>\n<p>The 150th seasonal celebration will see the return of the gala parade, egg hunt, torchlight procession and much more to the city\u2019s streets.<\/p>\n<p>Easter Fair Society president Simon Mulqueen said the online program provided a comprehensive outline of what will be on offer from 15 to 18 April.<\/p>\n<p>Despite COVID-19 pandemic-fuelled setbacks, he said he is hopeful this year will be a success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve tried to pull everything together as best we can for this year and we think it will be a fantastic festival for all of Bendigo, not only the citizens but also the businesses who have suffered through the last two years as well. It\u2019s a big economic injection for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81515\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81515\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-81515\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/03\/DSC_0594-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-81515\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">This year\u2019s event will feature the gala parade on Monday afternoon.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This year\u2019s line-up includes a Friday Easter egg hunt in Rosalind Park, with some 85,000 eggs to be found.<\/p>\n<p>Carnival central will run for the duration of the fair, featuring rides and attractions on Mundy Street, as well as the Rotary market on Bridge Street and Park Road.<\/p>\n<p>The awakening of the dragon will be held on Sunday afternoon, with the torchlight procession to follow in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>The show will go out with a bang when the gala parade floods the streets on Monday afternoon from 12.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Bendigo councillor Rod Fyffe, who chairs the Easter Fair\u2019s reference group, said the four-day event was a special celebration and nod to the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that we can actually go ahead with it is just wonderful. After two years of having to call it off, that was really, really heartbreaking.
