People get a chance to look at other stalls and get an idea or combine it with what they\u2019re doing, that\u2019s the goal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBendigo\u2019s turned on a great day, over 60 stalls which is huge for a town like Bendigo, and we\u2019ve got lots of people here so it\u2019s really great.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The main drawcard for the event was professional horticulturalist Millie Ross, who presents on ABC\u2019s <em>Gardening Australia<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ross gave her insights to the world of horticulture, captivating the crowd and inspiring novice gardeners to just \u201chave a crack\u201d.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81828\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-81828\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-81828 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2022\/03\/Bendigo_Sustainability_Festival-7-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-81828\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Felicity Johnson and Lisa Roulston at the Packed with Love stand.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t call myself an advocate for anything other than gardening, because I think it\u2019s great connection that people can have in their own backyard to some of those bigger issues of sustainability, living within our means and doing things better,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m into what you can do in your own backyard, but I think it inevitably leads to a better understanding of what\u2019s happening in the big backyard.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SUSTAINABILITY was the topic of the day at the Garden for the Future last Sunday.
