{"id":82026,"date":"2022-04-16T04:56:37","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T17:56:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=82026"},"modified":"2022-04-16T09:57:58","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T22:57:58","slug":"rockwiz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/rockwiz\/","title":{"rendered":"Jail house to rock at music Kwiz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR more than a decade, new episodes of music quiz show <em>RocKwiz<\/em> tested and entertained Australian television viewers.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by Julia Zemiro and Brian Nankervis, the final series aired in 2016, but they\u2019re literally getting the band back together, including scorer Dugald McAndrew and The <em>RocKwiz<\/em> OrKestra, for a regional tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJudging by past <em>RocKwiz<\/em> tours, there\u2019s a momentum that\u2019s quickly established when we go on tour, liberated from domestic realities, and swept up in the excitement and the challenge of entertaining big crowds,\u201d Nankervis said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s something special about being on the road, establishing and perfecting set routines, taking risks, finding new approaches, adapting to new environments and changing situations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re travelling with a rotating cast of musicians, household names and up-and-coming stars, and meeting fans who arrive as ordinary audience members but leave as heroes, answering questions alongside their idols or singing karaoke and receiving standing ovations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He recalls many memorable moments from past <em>RocKwiz<\/em> stagings, and the bus rides in between, including Joe Camilleri playing saxophone while Dugald McAndrew slow-danced with Deborah Conway, and Jim Moginie from Midnight Oil getting up for a jam with the OrKestra, having rocked up to see a show in Thirroul.<\/p>\n<p>Nankervis was impressed by Steve Kilbey and Vika Bull taking an on-road jam session between central and north Queensland and shaping it into a live rendition of <em>Under Pressure<\/em> later that evening, and fondly remembers Isabella Manfredi, Gossling, and Zemiro singing <em>Love is in the air<\/em> together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see what might happen,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><em>RocKwiz LIVE!
