CALLING all canines, it\u2019s time for walkies.<\/p>\n
RSPCA\u2019s Million Paws Walk returns next month, with around 10,000 people and their dogs expected to join in the countrywide event.<\/p>\n
CEO of RSPCA Victoria, Dr Liz Walker, said the walk raises important funds to help the organisation care for animals in need.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know people love their pets and that they make people\u2019s lives better,\u201d she said. \u201cThere is nothing better for people or their dogs than getting out for a walk.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt Million Paws Walk, people are not only doing something good for themselves and their dogs, but they are also helping to make life better for other animals.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur fundraising target in Victoria is $360,000, with every single dollar raised through Million Paws Walk, including entry fees, merchandise sales and online fundraising, helping fund RSPCA\u2019s critical work for vulnerable animals.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lake Weeroona will host Bendigo pooches for the event on Sunday, 22 May and a free virtual challenge for people who can\u2019t attend the physical event will take place all month, encouraging participants to walk their dogs every day.<\/p>\n
