GET the jump on a gift for mum at Oxart Pottery\u2019s Mother\u2019s Day market this Sunday from 10am to 4pm.<\/p>\n
Pottery co-owner Ian McColl and his partner will host about 10 stallholders at their property at 128 High Street, Taradale.<\/p>\n
\u201cA market seemed like a good way to bring community together in Taradale and also to give some of my friends and people that I\u2019ve worked with over the years an opportunity to have a different kind of market,\u201d Mr McColl said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very small scale but just a lovely atmosphere to come and enjoy.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have a range of artists and craftspeople from potters to painters, we\u2019ve got some macrame, a few different items like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Once a service station, the pair converted the space into a gallery and workshop after purchasing two years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve had a really good response even though we\u2019ve been in and out of lockdowns over the last couple of years. We\u2019ve had lots and lots of people doing classes, coming through the gallery,\u201d Mr McColl said.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also in the process of building a studio onsite to continue a four-decade career in pottery and the arts.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just love central Victoria, it\u2019s such a fantastic place for the arts and for tourism as well to get people coming through,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
