A STATEWIDE tour of song writing workshops will stop in Bendigo next month.<\/p>\n
The Regional Sessions program, presented by music rights management organisation APRA AMCOS, is part of the State Government\u2019s $5 million On the Road Again initiative and is aimed at boosting the live music industry\u2019s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
Featuring at the Wednesday, 15 June Bendigo session is central Victorian singer songwriter and disability advocate Eliza Hull.<\/p>\n
\u201cCOVID has presented us with a lot of challenges around how we recover the music industry, so I\u2019m really hoping to talk to new songwriters and more experienced songwriters in terms of ways to bring the music industry back,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll also be sharing some song writing tips and ways to get a publisher, get music into TV and film and talking about ways that artists can implement more access and inclusion into their website and social media channels and into their live shows so that artists and audience with a disability can feel more included.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s such a great range of artists and songwriters coming. We\u2019ll all share our own individual expertise.\u201d<\/p>\n
Joining her are fellow musicians Ed Kuepper, Candice Lorrae, Jan Skubiszewski and Nicky Bomba.<\/p>\n
Hull said the workshop was about making sure regional musicians weren\u2019t left behind or missing out on opportunities available to those in metro areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a disadvantage at times to be a regional musician and this is a way to close the gap, enable regional musicians to feel like they are being heard and listened to and have more opportunity to further their skills to enable more music to shine regionally,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
