WITH visitation going strong, the Discovery Science and Technology Centre is extending its Da Vinci\u2019s Machines exhibition until the end of winter school holidays on 10 July.<\/p>\n
General manager Alissa Van Soest said over 10,000 people have come to the centre since the exhibition opened.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe April school holiday period was the busiest we\u2019ve had on record, so given the demand is so high, we want to ensure people don\u2019t miss out on this inspiring exhibition,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Originally scheduled to finish in the first week of June, the exhibition is now also free to book.<\/p>\n
Operated by international company the Artisans of Florence, it features over 60 machines, sketches and paintings constructed from the renaissance man\u2019s personal notebook.<\/p>\n
Iconic inventions including the world\u2019s first glider prototype, the scuba suit and other civil engineering breakthroughs are on display.<\/p>\n
Ms Van Soest said the extension means there\u2019s plenty of time to “come and learn from the master how to imagine the kind of world that you want and, more importantly, what it takes to create it.\u201d<\/p>\n
