DISABILITY support provider Amicus Community Services has appointed Ken Marchingo to the position of interim CEO.<\/p>\n
Mr Marchingo fills the role vacated by Ann-Maree Davis who stepped down in May and brings years of experience in social and disability housing to the role, having served as the CEO at Haven; Home, Safe for 27 years until January last year.<\/p>\n
He said his role is \u201cby no means a caretaker position\u201d and he\u2019s aiming to ensure the organisation\u2019s projects and services continue successfully after a permanent CEO is employed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe executive team and myself have already spent significant time planning for the future, identifying key initiatives to prepare for implementation over the next 12 to 18 months,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrategic planning is underway, with a view to provide the incoming CEO with a clear, relevant and impactful pathway for the next few years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Amicus chair Paul Somerville said Mr Marchingo\u2019s experience in supporting organisations caring for vulnerable people is a valued addition to the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cKen\u2019s vast leadership and transformative experience in the community sector ensures the organisation is in very capable hands whilst we work through the recruitment process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mr Somerville said Ms Davis\u2019 13 years as CEO saw \u201cextensive growth and positive change\u201d for Amicus.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnn-Maree has made a significant impact on our organisation and has been instrumental in building Amicus to the capacity that we deliver today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
