STRATHFIELDSAYE Storm powered to a ten-goal victory over South Bendigo in Saturday\u2019s sixteenth round of the Bendigo Bank Bendigo Football League.<\/p>\n
On a day marked as Bendigo Bank Round in footy and netball leagues under AFL Central Victoria\u2019s umbrella it was Storm who dominated the showdown with the Bloods at Triple M Park in Tannery Lane.<\/p>\n
Just a point separated these clubs in the Indigenous Round played on 28 May, but this time Strathfieldsaye controlled play on home turf.<\/p>\n
Storm led 18-13 at quarter-time and then slammed on 8.1 to 3.0 in the second.<\/p>\n
At the end of an evenly fought third term Strathfieldsaye held a 33-point buffer.<\/p>\n
Led by the play of Callum McCarty, Baxter Slater and Riley Clarke the Storm line-up scored 5.2 to a point in the final term to complete a 110 to 46 victory.<\/p>\n
Multiple goalkicking options came to the fore as captain Lachlan Sharp had four, Slater with three, and Riley Clarke, Lachlan Gill and Jake Moorhead two each, led Storm\u2019s attack.<\/p>\n
Best for the Darryl Wilson and Shannon Geary-coached Storm included Gill, Daniel Clohesy and Harry Conway.<\/p>\n
It was a tough afternoon for South\u2019s forwards with Kaiden Antonowicz, Brock Harvey and Will Keck managing two goals apiece.<\/p>\n
Best for the Nathan Horbury-coached Bloods were the coach himself, Braydan Torpey, Michael Herlihy, Liam Byrne, Zac Hare and Will Keck.<\/p>\n
Kyneton took a significant step toward sealing a top-five finish in a 23-point win against Eaglehawk.<\/p>\n
The Tigers were up by just seven points at half-time of the huge clash at Kyneton Showgrounds.<\/p>\n
Cameron Manuel went on to kick a match-high five goals and the in-form Angus Nolte added three as the yellow and black won 85-62.<\/p>\n
The Hawks\u2019 attack was led by Cam McGlashan and Sean Williams on three each.<\/p>\n
Best for the Tigers were Dean Bartrop, Cameron Manuel, Frazer Driscoll and Harrison Huntley.<\/p>\n
Dillon Williams, Ben Thompson and Clayton Holmes played well for the Travis Matheson-coached Hawks.<\/p>\n
