{"id":85014,"date":"2022-09-01T04:59:05","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T18:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=85014"},"modified":"2022-09-01T09:49:21","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T23:49:21","slug":"white-night-lights-turning-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/white-night-lights-turning-on\/","title":{"rendered":"White Night lights turning on"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">THIS Saturday, White Night returns with a night of culture, art and music planned for the city centre.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">From 7pm to 1am, projections, installations, live performances and street food will take over spaces from the La Trobe Art Institute to the Golden Dragon Museum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">A welcome to country and smoking ceremony starts the program at Rosalind Park, where there is a <em>Faces of Djaara <\/em>projection reflecting local traditional owners.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Also at Rosalind Park is a neon archway, with glowing neon dogs filling the space.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">A giant 10-metre-long puppet called <em>The Guardian<\/em> will be roaming the streets, while drag artists like Art Simone will dance atop the cabaret tram.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The heritage sounds tram will be playing big brass tunes and celebrity host Andy Trieu will be spinning tracks at the Golden Dragon DJ Stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Music lovers can catch local bands on the back of a vintage Dodge, as well as on the steps of the Capital Theatre and dance fanatics can learn all different styles from a stage at Pall Mall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Plenty more artworks and projections will be on display throughout the CBD.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Extra public transport services are available including V\/Line coach services and city bus routes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">For the full program visit <strong>whitenight.com.au\/bendigo\/program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THIS Saturday, White Night returns with a night of culture, art and music planned for the city centre.
