{"id":85099,"date":"2022-09-11T04:56:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T18:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=85099"},"modified":"2022-09-06T15:20:55","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T05:20:55","slug":"50s-and-60s-spectacular-on-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/50s-and-60s-spectacular-on-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"50s and 60s spectacular on stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">IF you\u2019re still recovering from Elvis fever, rock \u2018n\u2019 roll spectacular <em>Shake Rattle \u2018n\u2019 Roll<\/em> may just scratch that itch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Produced by Dion and Randall International, the show features a line-up of 15 singers and dancers performing routines to the music of the 1950s and 1960s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">One half of the production duo, Adam Dion, said there\u2019s more glitz than ever before with state-of-the-art sound, staging and effects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur fully choreographed stage production revels and delights in the era of poodle skirts, bobby socks, high collars and jive dancing to tunes that get you up and dancing in the aisles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The list of artists includes Dancing with the Stars professionals Aric Yegudkin and Lily Cornish, Victorian Guild Award winner Jonathan Guthrie-Jones, <em>Moulin Rouge!<\/em> star J\u2019aime Holland and Elvis tribute performer Anthony Petrucci.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The cast will perform jukebox classics such as Elvis Presley\u2019s <em>Jailhouse Rock,<\/em> Sam Cooke\u2019s <em>Twistin\u2019 The Night Away<\/em>, and Paul Anka\u2019s <em>Put Your Head On My Shoulder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Yegudkin, who choregraphed the show, said he guarantees audiences will have a good time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cYou get a taste of the best of the era in <em>Shake Rattle \u2018n\u2019 Roll<\/em>, not just Elvis or Johnny O\u2019Keefe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s a euphoric jukebox of the best hits that ensures every audience member is smiling as they leave the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>Shake Rattle \u2018n\u2019 Roll <\/em>first debuted in 1993 in Melbourne. Celebrating 30 years, the 2022 national tour began in July and has been performed in Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The show comes to Ulumbarra Theatre on Saturday, 17 September.
