SAUNTER through spring with the City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s Bloom tourism campaign featuring sixty events and experiences and more evening activations.<\/p>\n
Tulips are once again the stars of the show, with 53,000 bulbs bursting at gardens across Greater Bendigo, including Rosalind Park\u2019s Conservatory Gardens.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf said there are some returning and new events this year.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpring is a special time in Bendigo and residents and visitors always love seeing the tulips which are beautifully presented by staff from the City of Greater Bendigo\u2019s parks and open space unit,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs part of the annual display, a secret design in one of the main beds in the Conservatory Gardens will be revealed once the tulips bloom.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether with our magnificent tulips, this year\u2019s Bloom events calendar is brimming with things to see, enjoy and experience this spring, including music, food and wine festivals, arts and cultural events.\u201d<\/p>\n
Bloom After Dark activations will run from Friday, 16 September until Sunday, 9 October throughout the CBD, with the Conservatory showing an illuminated, interactive floral display.<\/p>\n
Cr Metcalf said the laneway between the Engine Room and the Capital Theatre has been turned into a \u201cdaytime selfie spot\u201d featuring digital artwork from local artist Alicia Huddy.<\/p>\n
Other highlights of the campaign include the Bendigo Uncorked Festival starting Saturday, 1 October, the Bendigo Agriculture Show on 21 and 22 October, and the Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
