FROM Golden City Football Club to the A-League, Silver Bell Morris\u2019 young career has gone from strength to strength.<\/p>\n
Most recently competing at the AFF U18 Women\u2019s Championship which she won with the Junior Matildas, Morris was also part of the FV Emerging squad which reached the NPLW Victoria finals for the first time this year.<\/p>\n
She said she\u2019s ready for the next step of her career, signing a scholarship contract with the A-League Women club Western United.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels amazing and I\u2019m very grateful for the opportunity,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019ve been working hard towards since I was young and to have the opportunity to join Western United is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morris was born in a refugee camp on the boarder of Myanmar and Thailand border before moving to Australia with her family in 2013.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old centre-back started playing soccer locally before being scouted to various development programs.<\/p>\n
Western United head coach Mark Torcaso said Morris had an outstanding season in the WNPL Victoria, where she was coached by United assistant Helen Winterburn.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithout doubt, Silver Bell has been one of the standout young players in NPLW. She has enormous potential, but I\u2019m also really excited to see how she can help us immediately with her quality,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHelen has done an incredible job with the Emerging team and Silver Bell has shone in that environment, so I\u2019m really excited that they will continue to work together and that I get to be involved now as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cAdded to that, she has grown up, lived and developed in the west, so to have a player like that representing our country and now playing for the club in the west is a big deal, and I\u2019m really pleased.\u201d<\/p>\n
