A PRODUCTION paying homage to Whitney Houston, the voice of a generation, is coming to the Capital Theatre on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Complete with an 11-piece band, dancers, and backing vocalists, the show was a sell-out at The Palms at Crown in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
The concert will be led by its note-perfect creator Tilarni, a Sri Lankan born singer who professes to idolising Houston and sharing her love of jazz, soul, pop, R&B, and gospel music.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have enjoyed singing from an early age, having grown up in a musical family. I first started singing at age 13 in church, like Whitney,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer voice, passion and delivery as a singer has been something to aspire to, and it has taken a great deal of work as a singer to be able to perform over 20 of her songs in this tribute show.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis show is a vision that I had, after her untimely death in 2012. Her iconic songs touched so many people through various times in their lives and they will never get to go to one of her concerts again.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to keep her music alive for the next generation over the years to come. Audiences will get a full concert experience and whilst there will never be another Whitney Houston, I love channelling her sound and interpreting her songs.\u201d<\/p>\n
