THE Bendigo Evening VIEW Club is on the lookout for new members who have a drive for giving back to the community and want to connect with other women.<\/p>\n
VIEW has over 250 clubs across Australia with around 14,000 members and supports children\u2019s education charity The Smith Family.<\/p>\n
After COVID-19 halted most social events over the last few years, Bendigo club president Deidre McDougall said now is the perfect time to join her group.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have had so much fun organising upcoming events for our club this year,\u201d she said. \u201cThis includes a trip to Hobart for the national convention.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese always feature fabulous dinners and speakers and are a great way to hear about how we help children and young people through The Smith Family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms McDougall said the need to support children and their families is as important now as it has ever been.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have all been hit by the rising cost of living, be it power prices, food, or petrol,\u201d she said. \u201cBut these rises have had an even greater impact on those already doing it tough.<\/p>\n
\u201cParents shouldn\u2019t have to choose between putting dinner on the table or buying their child a uniform for school.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is why it is so important that we can help children experiencing disadvantage with their education.\u201d<\/p>\n
