FOR some it could be a case of blokes just doing their job, but when one great-grandmother recently had major car trouble, the fellas from Natrad Eaglehawk stepped in to go above and beyond.<\/p>\n
Now Ellen Creely has said she\u2019s very grateful for their repair work and commitment after her car\u2019s radiator blew up in the late summer heat.<\/p>\n
Late last month, Ms Creely was heading into town on a \u201cstinking hot day,\u201d and on her way down to the Chapel Street lights her car start making weird noises and she noticed the radiator gauge had \u201cshot up.\u201d<\/p>\n
By the time she got to Natrad Ms Creely was told by Glenn Billett, one of the business owners, that she\u2019d have to leave it overnight.<\/p>\n
But that was going to be challenging as Ms Creely said she desperately needed the car as soon as possible as she had to take her great-grandson, who has a disability, to his appointments.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they knocked off, they stayed back and worked afterhours, which I didn\u2019t expect them to do,\u201d she said. \u201cThat\u2019s what brought it to my attention, I thought, well, he\u2019s a genuine businessman.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe rang me the next morning and said we\u2019ve done your car and I just about cried because I was in disbelief. He was great.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Billett, on the other hand, didn\u2019t think there was anything to it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were just doing our job,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ms Creely\u2019s grandson goes to Bendigo Special Development School in Kangaroo Flat and she\u2019s dependent on her vehicle to get him and herself around.<\/p>\n
\u201cI need the car to take him to wherever, so I can\u2019t be without my car,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
