{"id":88840,"date":"2023-04-18T04:56:42","date_gmt":"2023-04-17T18:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/?p=88840"},"modified":"2023-04-11T08:51:50","modified_gmt":"2023-04-10T22:51:50","slug":"french-film-festival-set-for-big-screen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bendigotimes\/news\/french-film-festival-set-for-big-screen\/","title":{"rendered":"French film festival set for big screen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ACCLAIMED French feature films from the past year are coming to the Star Cinema in Eaglehawk later this month as part of the Alliance Fran\u00e7aise French Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Alliance Fran\u00e7aise general manager Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Predhom said the selection really is the cream of the cinematic crop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the ones they selected are actually in the top 10 of our movies this year,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The screening list includes films like <em>Masquerade<\/em> and <em>Two Tickets to Greece<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Two Tickets to Greece<\/em> has some deep things about life, but overall, the movie is quite light, and the landscapes are beautiful,\u201d Ms Predhom said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Masquerade <\/em>has all the ingredients of the French typical view of the French Riviera, the luxury, the decadence also.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople either like or don\u2019t like it, but it leaves you talking.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Programming manager at the Star Cinema, Hannah Morton, said she is pleased with early ticket sales for the festival.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lineup is a really great one and the early numbers seem to be reflecting that, so we\u2019re excited,\u201d said Ms Morton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of excitement around the festival, it\u2019s really embedded in our annual calendar now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Alliance Fran\u00e7aise French Film Festival is in its 34th year in Australia and is growing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we are about to break our record of attendance in Melbourne,\u201d Ms Predhom said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are reaching 50,000 tickets at the box office.
