PART of Bendigo Heritage\u2019s Vintage Talking Tram network, Tram No. 15 has been knitted out with colourful crochet decorations for the winter.<\/p>\n
Marketing and events manager for Bendigo Heritage Tynille Thurlow said the creations were made for the tram by a group of \u201cneedling ninjas\u201d who preferred to remain anonymous, and took many hours of work.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a winter installation, and the goal is simply just to have some fun, brighten up the streets of Bendigo, hopefully spark some joy amongst the community whilst showcasing the art of crochet and create a warm, cosy environment on board the tram during the colder months,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ms Thurlow said although the tram doesn\u2019t run every day, the organisation is trying to get it out as much as possible.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt forms part of our vintage talking tram fleet, so to ride it, you can buy a ticket for the talking tram and hop on board,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen it\u2019s not in service, it is sitting stationary at Central Deborah Gold Mine, so you can just pop down to Central Debo if it\u2019s not on the streets.\u201d<\/p>\n
Those who love crochet and needlework are in for a treat, said Ms Thurlow, and it is also popular with families.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s so much fun with the kids on board, it\u2019s just an explosion of colours and vibrancy and just fun, so going into the holidays, it will definitely be a drawcard for families,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The Yarn Bomb Tram runs on the Vintage Talking Tram route which starts and ends at Central Deborah Gold Mine and takes about 45 minutes for a roundtrip.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
