MEMBERS at White Hills Bowls Club are excited following the announcement a new coach set to join the ranks.<\/p>\n
In a club first, John Hubber will take on the guidance role, and he\u2019ll bring with him firsthand experience from Division One Pennant, which he played with Moonee Ponds Bowls Club in Melbourne.<\/p>\n
Mr Hubber, who\u2019s also a successful golfer, will also be able to pass on teachings from his own mentors, including current Australia player Barry Lester and previous national player Mark Jacobson.<\/p>\n
\u201cTeam success is built upon individual improvements,\u201d said Hubber.<\/p>\n
White Hills Bowls Club president Malcolm Zadow said Hubber will be the first official coach to support the 85 competitive and 35 social members.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a new breath of life for the club, it brings a bit of excitement, it brings some new ideas, but the main thing is that he looks at people objectively and gives everyone a fair chance,\u201d Zadow said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone who goes to bowls club, they\u2019re an A-grade player, no matter how great they think they are, and they always want to play the best.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving someone objective, he can go through and assess whether he can help people.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt might be the simplest thing like it\u2019s just the way they stand, the way they deliver the bowl. He\u2019s a very good communicator, and basically what he wants is everyone to, if they can, just to improve that little bit.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s asking if everyone across the board can improve 10 per cent, that would mean a tremendous improvement in say one ring. That\u2019s the difference between making the finals or not.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s there to help anybody regardless of what grading they are or how long they\u2019ve been bowling, or whether or not they\u2019ve just started out.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
