He taught her more about 3D modelling, while Binns taught him about <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">nerikomi.<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nerikomi <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is where I build patterns in the body of the clay, so rather than painting or putting a glaze on the surface, I mix a pigment stain through the clay and then I build solid pattern blocks with the colour through it,\u201d said Binns.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cIt wasn\u2019t a lot of talk, it was just quiet sort of play.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe both had a bit of new ground to cover,\u201d said Bish. \u201cI found it really good, it was licence to play really, I just played.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cI have a philosophy that you can\u2019t sit with a pad and a pen and try to draw something, you have to actually get the material and start to make things.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cAnd while you\u2019re thinking and while you\u2019ll making, things will happen.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Both artists said COVID-19 was the time when making art was a saving grace.
