WITH the instalment of the Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan, as the new Premier of Victoria, the political head of the City of Greater Bendigo has acknowledged and celebrated Ms Allan\u2019s move into the top job.<\/p>\n
A statement from mayor Cr Andrea Metcalf, on behalf of the municipality, congratulated Ms Allan as a local resident, and as a long-time member of Parliament.<\/p>\n
Cr Metcalf also thanked the outgoing leader, former Premier Daniel Andrews, for his service.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe City of Greater Bendigo extends a warm congratulations to the new Premier of Victoria, the Honorable Jacinta Allan,\u201d Cr Metcalf said.<\/p>\n
\u201cJacinta becomes Victoria\u2019s second female Premier, and the first in thirty years.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs the Member for Bendigo East, we have worked closely with Jacinta since her election in 1999.<\/p>\n
